With the ongoing use of computers and the internet, computers have never been so much at risk. Luckily for us, software designed to prevent malware from affecting your computer is also at its best.
But be it on your home desktop computer or on the laptop you use at work, or even on your mobile phone, malicious software from malicious people is always a threat. And they always seem to be developing ways to make it harder for us to detect the malicious software they develop.
The internet has of course provided a way to quickly disseminate this software. But it has also provided a way for anti-virus companies to quickly detect and solve the problem, as it’s reported immediately by thousands of people. So be it a Trojan virus, a keylogger or a destructive piece of software, they’re on it really fast.
When it comes to exploits on the operating system, though, it’s a different matter. An antivirus can only do so much when it’s the core system that is providing a way in. Such problems need to be resolved by patching the system. Fortunately, this also has become easier and much faster. All in all, although the threats on our computers are larger, we’re also better protected.
