Landlines

by admin on June 17, 2010

Most of use use our cell phones to make all our calls these days.  Many people no longer have a land line since it never rings anymore but how do you know when to let your landline go?  As we are all cutting back where ever we can to save a buck, this might be a good idea.  The International Telecommunication Union reports that almost forty-three percent of all phones in America are our faithful companion, the cell phone.  Since the year 2000, the FCC has discovered that the use of landlines has dropped by thirty-seven percent.

With the mobile phone deals that we have today,  free weekends and nights, you can only wonder why you keep hanging on to that old landline.   Without this night and weekend feature, our cell phone bill would be out of this world. But there are always pros and cons to everything.

Ending the service of the landline will give you one less bill each month and your phone number remains the same if you move.  With no landline, you are not listed in the phone book, and if you need more minutes than your plan has, you have no other phone to use. If you mainly use your cell phone and are rarely home, maybe it is a good time to loose that landline.
